An Immersive Website Experience Brings TASA's Missions to Life

Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) is focuse on advancing space technology and research to support Taiwan's national interests and contribute to the global space community.
The old website design was outdated, lacked interactive elements and responsive design, resulting in a text-heavy layout that failed to effectively communicate TASA's missions and services to the public.
To address this, I aimed to improve information delivery in a clear and engaging manner by enhancing the information architecture and navigation, and incorporating interactive elements to balance the text and create a more immersive user experience.
From Passive Browsing to Mission-Led Exploration
The redesign brings missions to the forefront and creates a clear exploration flow, enabling users to understand mission timelines and relationships more effectively.
The landing page surfaces missions earlier and uses motion-driven interactions to guide users naturally from entry points into mission exploration.
The mission page improves understanding of mission timelines and relationships through a list view and flexible exploration modes.
Transforming Text-Heavy Information into an Engaging Exploration Experience
Static layouts were replaced with interactive patterns that invite exploration, encouraging users to actively engage with content rather than passively consume it.
The about page clarifies TASA’s role and expertise through structured content and interactive elements, strengthening credibility and trust.
The news page surfaces key updates more clearly and uses refined layouts and filtering to support efficient scanning and confident reading.
Translate Brand Vision into Digital Experience
Inspired by TASA’s brand spirit, “Embrace the Unknown, Never Stop Exploring,” we crafted a visual language that balances a sense of futurism with exploration. Dynamic light and shadow effects respond to cursor movement, creating an immersive, space-like experience. Playful visuals combined with improved navigation and information architecture make it easy for space enthusiasts to explore and understand TASA’s missions and services.
Two Ways to Explore Missions Based on User Needs
We designed two exploration modes to cater to users’ different interests and needs. Card Mode features a clean card based layout with keyword search, helping users quickly find tasks or topics and making it ideal for efficiency driven scenarios. Explore Mode offers an immersive space themed experience by visualising each task’s orbital position and hierarchy, highlighting the scale and complexity of space missions. Both modes combine informativeness with interactivity, enhancing flexibility and engagement in exploration.
Enhance Engagement Through Visual and Interactive Design
We extended the brand’s visual language by integrating icons and 3D motion graphics as supportive information elements, making content easier to understand and absorb. Through interactions such as scrolling and hover effects, users are guided to explore the website in a more intuitive and engaging way, enhancing the overall experience and encouraging longer time spent on the site.
Optimizing Information Access Across Devices for Timely Updates
We adopted a card based list design with category filters and keyword search, enabling users to quickly browse and locate relevant content across different device sizes. Each news is presented in a easy to read format, improving overall information clarity.
